Welcome to the Wired (PINNED)

Welcome to viztini's tech blog, here I explore the boundaries between the physical world and the wired (the cloud, the internet, the network, whatever you want to call it), the depths of technology, consciousness, and the ever-evolving digital landscape. Are you ready to disconnect from reality?

UNC2891 Hackers Use Linux Malware in Major Banking Security Heists

UNC2891 slipped Raspberry Pi implants into ATM network paths, used simple Linux privilege-escalation tools, and hid their activity with bind mounts to quietly control transaction switches for years. That foothold let them clone cards, run mule cashouts across multiple countries, and exploit long-standing structural weaknesses in banking networks that looked secure only on paper.

Offline LLMs Are Actually Useful Now

Quantization, lightweight runtimes, and model distillation let multi-billion-parameter models run locally on laptops. For privacy-first workflows and reproducible experiments, an offline model can be dramatically more practical than it was two years ago, that is if you accept some tradeoffs in latency and accuracy.

CLI over GUI

Terminals outperform GUIs for anyone who knows their tools. Commands chain, automate, and scale in ways clicking never will. A GUI shows options; a CLI lets you shape the system.
